Everything you need to know about cancellations, refunds, and changes to your flight booking. We're here to help — 24/7.
This Refund Policy explains the cancellation and refund process for flight tickets booked through VootFly. Because VootFly acts as an intermediary between you and the airline, refunds are subject to both the airline's fare rules and VootFly's administrative policies.
We strongly recommend reviewing the fare conditions of your specific ticket before purchase. Our agents are happy to explain the fare rules in detail before you confirm your booking.
| Fare Type | Refundable? | Change Allowed? | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-Refundable (Basic / Saver) | ✗ No Cash Refund | With fee + fare diff. | Budget travelers, fixed plans |
| Semi-Flexible | Partial credit only | Yes, with fee | Most economy tickets |
| Fully Flexible (Refundable) | ✓ Yes, minus fees | Yes, free or low fee | Business class, premium |
| Bereavement / Medical | Case-by-case | Case-by-case | Emergency situations |
In addition to any airline-imposed cancellation or change fees, VootFly charges an administrative fee to cover the cost of processing your request with the airline. These fees are non-negotiable and non-refundable.
Call (800) 518-9233 or email refunds@vootfly.com — the sooner you contact us, the more options may be available to you.
Share your booking reference number (PNR), full passenger names, flight details, and your reason for cancellation.
Our agent will review your ticket's fare rules and advise on applicable fees, refund eligibility, and the estimated timeline for your refund.
If you approve, we will submit the cancellation to the airline and confirm the refund amount in writing via email.
Once confirmed, refunds are processed within 7–21 business days depending on your payment method and the airline's processing time.
Refund timelines are estimates and depend on airline processing speed and your bank's policies. VootFly is not responsible for delays caused by airlines or financial institutions.
Refunds will NOT be issued in the following circumstances:
If an airline cancels your flight, you are typically entitled to either a full refund or rebooking on the next available flight at no additional cost, per airline policy. VootFly will:
VootFly strongly recommends purchasing coverage for trip cancellation, medical emergencies, baggage loss, and travel delays. Many non-refundable ticket costs can be recovered through travel insurance in cases of medical emergencies, family bereavement, or severe weather. Our agents can recommend reputable providers at the time of booking — this is especially important for high-value business or first class tickets.
In the event of death or serious illness of an immediate family member, certain airlines may offer bereavement fares or waive cancellation fees. Contact our agents immediately with supporting documentation and we will pursue all available options on your behalf.
If a passenger is medically unable to travel, many airlines will consider fee waivers with a physician's letter on official letterhead. VootFly will submit such requests to the airline and advocate for the best possible outcome, though approval is at the airline's sole discretion.
If the US Department of State issues a Level 4 "Do Not Travel" advisory for your destination after ticket purchase, most airlines will provide fee waivers. VootFly will monitor applicable advisories and proactively notify affected customers.
